The key to softer, more radiant skin: Exfoliation
When we think about maintaining healthy, soft and glowing skin one of the first things we think of - apart from drinking water - is exfoliation. Read on to learn more about exfoliation, best practices to do it effectively and handcrafted products we have available to support you on your journey to softer, smoother, more glowing skin.
What is exfoliation?
Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells.
What are the benefits of exfoliation?
The benefits of exfoliation are plenty and include:
Exfoliation aids in skin cell regeneration by removing dead skin cells and speeding up the process of new skin cell formation at the surface of the derma.
Opens pores to receive hydration resulting in more hydrated skin
Helps to prevent ingrown hairs & reduce clogged pores.
Leaves skin on the surface appearing smooth & moisturized.
How do you exfoliate?
Exfoliation can be done at home using textured cloths, sponges, brushes, natural soap savers & exfoliation bags, or scrubs.
Best practices for exfoliating
Exfoliation benefits the entire body to reveal softer, more radiant skin. Exfoliation is just one part of the steps it takes to achieve the healthiest skin, so here are a few best practices to keep in mind.
We recommend exfoliating 2-3 times per week on the face or body.
On the face, you can replenish the skin between exfoliations with a hydrating face mask or help to purify and tighten pores with a clarifying face mask.
We recommend exfoliating regularly in areas you shave or wax to prevent ingrown hairs.
Follow all exfoliations up with a hydrating toner or moisturizer.
We recommend exfoliating your lips before using lipstick to provide moisturizing impact, during makeup removal to remove lipstick naturally, and 2-3 times per week to help brighten the appearance of lips, reduce hyperpigmentation and chaffing.
